Sorry if I've posted this thread in the wrong forum, I didn't know where else to put it...

Well Hacking OOT is a lot harder than it looks in some parts and in others it doesn't look all that difficult. There's plenty of online tutorials online, but some specific ones are hard to find, and others don't give you so much information. I just started Text editing OOT, only to see if I could do it, and I haven't really read much else. I have already downloaded pretty much every zelda hacking program I could want, yet I don't know how to use most of them yet. I don't see how I'm going to figure out what a specific code is for the music in a boss lair, or anything like that. I know I can rip all the codes out using a tool, but How do I know what's codes are for what?

Right now I'm trying to figure out how I can replace music in specific areas. I want to change the music in the lost woods to the lost woods song from A Link to the Past, the hyrule castle town song to the town song from The Adventure of Link, and ect..

Can anyone help me out on this?

I've tried this program but I can't get it to work. I do everything he does in the video, but when he changes inst from 0 to another number I get lost because I don't know what the numbers represent. I know they can't be left as zeros so I change them from anywhere between 1-8

There's some Mario/Zelda music editing tools, but I deleted them after I couldn't figure out how to use them. I only got so far as to changing the midi files into m64 files then I was basically lost.

I fixed the problem, I just had to fix the CRC checksums.
