I've finally tracked down an AGS-101 model GBA SP, but there's a scratch on the screen that's creating this annoying rainbow effect. So I'm thinking I'll replace the screen lens. From what I've read, the SP's lens is a transparent piece of plastic that's stuck to the LCD screen, but is the AGS-101 model different? I also see you can get a glass lens instead of a plastic lens, however there's apparently two different configurations of SP lens: the kind where the logo is printed on the lens, and the kind where it's printed on the LCD. If you use the glass replacement on the a SP where the logo is printed to the lens, you lose the logo. Any idea which type is AGS-101 is?
I'm a little confused by what you're asking, but the 001 and 101 use the same clear lens over the LCD. Neither have anything printed on the LCD itself.
You're probably getting confused the logo being printed on the LCD instead of the lens. This comes from the glass replacement lenses I've seen on eBay, which just have a little transparent oval where the original logo is suppose to show though. I've since found YouTube videos of how to replace the lens, and the 101 is the same as the 001, you just pull off the old lens, which is stuck to the LCD screen. The logo is printed on the lens itself. No idea how those glass replacements are suppose to work, since you would be seeing a whole lot of nothing though that little window. Unless they're expecting you to put the glass lens on top the original lens, which isn't really replacing it at all. So yeah, that YouTube video I mentioned shows me everything I needed to know
