So the plan day has come to make my own custom XBOX. So I want to add a red light fan at the back. Problem being I'm not sure what size the original XBOX fan is, and don't bother saying "well measure it" I'm horrible with numbers and usually measure wrong :p. From just by looking at the fan myself my rough guess is that it's a 60mm x 25mm? Anyway, I know there's plenty of 80mm fans being put into the system but it involves cutting the sides of the fan, and I just don't have the tools to do that.

You didn't check my original post by the looks of it.

I'm asking what size fan does the XBOX have, and I can't cut the fan as I don't have the tools. So I'm asking what size fan could work inside the system without modification.

70mm is probably my best guess.

Thanks Defect. I was wondering a 60mm but would that be too small?

It could work, but you'd be able to only mount in one hole.
I mean, hot glue could fix that. Or duct tape, for that Canadian touch.

could probably cut a hole in the back vents and fit a 80mm fan, coolermaster silent ones are pretty quiet and come in red blue green etc i had 5 of them in a PC case (2 side panel, one front, one top and one rear)

cheap hack jnr hack saw or a shap serrated knife would work for cutting the fan down but all you need to do is trim it really.

would also be worth getting fan with the same or higher airflow than the original.

also need to decide if you're going to do a 12v fan (take power from xbox psu) or just use the xbox original fan connector which is 5v?(just a guess i've not looked it up)

    no special tools required

Well after inspecting my XBOX I took apart earlier the fan is actually clipped on. So I'm thinking just some cable ties will be good enough to hold it in place.
Also the fan does look rounded off so I guess that's the way to go then.

    Thanks guys!
