So a couple of years ago someone gave me this old 486 PC running Windows 95 plus.
The PC was a Fujitsu-Siemens one from the "Indiana" & "multimedia pc" series.
The one in the picture is from the same series, but it's not the one I had.
After digging through the software and the flyers that came with it I was under the impression that this was some kind of demo product. A lot of the software was tagged with "For demonstration purposes only" in the splashscreens.
Now I only remember Doom 2 because stuff like Works/MS Word don't interest me :)
The Doom 2 version on it looked pretty much like Doom95 with that Win95 launcher with the only visible difference that the splash was the Doom 2 poster and on the splash it said something like "this is a demonstration version" or "for demonstration purposes only".
After searching for this version online I have come up with zero results making me curious if someone esle has seen this version too or know anything about it.

Try asking about it at the Doomworld forums. Someone there's bound to find out more about this.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will. Seems like the place where somebody should know.
Yeah, it would. I don't have that PC anymore, though. If I had I'd just zip and post that demo here.
That's pretty neat! That version has the same icon as the one I'm talking about, so that was very close :D
But that's not the version I had. Very cool indeed and thanks for the link. The one I had on that storedemo pc had a text that kind of made me think that it was made specifically as a storedemo. Even though the iwad was complete, the only difference was on level two when you enter the first room and have to pull the lever in the left part of the room well that lever is just there with the shotgun guy, there's no bars that need to be opened first.

The lack of bars means that it had to be a later version of the IWAD, including the latest version. Those bars blocking the switch only appeared in the earliest version of the map. In all subsequent updates, it was removed. Sounds like someone took a commercial version of the game and bundled it with a modified version of Doom 95.

You could be right, maybe some store clerk added the "demo" text just to avoid getting fined for piracy. Or it was some kind of bbs warez thing..
