[Request] DirectX SDK August 2008

It seems that Microsoft has every other version EXCEPT this one (they have Redistributable still).

I'm in desperate need of it and it seems theres almost no mirrors - even torrents with said SDK are dead (no seeders).

If anyone can help out I would be very happy.

 

From what I can tell, August SDK was just an update? Surely the next SDK would've had August update as well.. I would assume.
Which might explain it being removed from MS servers.

Downloading now at a blazing fast 15kb/s because it claimed the file was too big without their software so I grabbed a script to get past this.

I'll report back when this has finished downloading.

Edit: didnt take long. Killed the download from their end it seems

 

Server is in China, so it's safe to use the tool just use it for this. Considering this is your only lead so far.

 

Im sure it's safe, it's just a matter of being so slow the download stopped indefinitely and failed.

Could've been because you didn't use the client?

 

just install the client in a VM

 

Hard to use a client in all chinese.

I have someone who may help without a VM

This SDK isn't going to just be gone from the internet.

 

Shouldn't be too hard to work out... I think it opens the download when you click the link anyway. Last time I used it was pretty easy.

Otherwise, just run it in sandbox till you figure out the buttons incase of bloatware.

 

Finally, after around 2 hours trying to get this sorted out, I'm downloading the DXSDK_Aug08.exe in a VM right now. Going to take a couple hours. When done, i'll upload to my dropbox probably and will post back here with a link. I'll check the file out first though, of course.

Now the question is why this is the ONLY one that isn't available from MS anymore (from around this time)

 

I think the bigger question is why do YOU want it?

 

At first it was for prototypes

Then it became personal when I realized this was by no means an easy task

I cant imagine what other things will be/are gone but at least this one is done
