Hello Everyone, I'm hoping some out there can lend a hand, I'm looking for the Software editor that came on 2 Floppy Disks for the Laseractive CLD-A100 Pac-PC1, 1 was for the Mac and the other one was for DOS based PC's, if anyone has these can you please post them for me, I am trying to test one of these units and want to see if I can get it to work.

Many Thanks in advance for any and all replies
    Rick

You know Rick... I actually have a copy of the PC version... give me a minute or two to go thru my archives and find it...

(EDIT: Removed Link to incomplete files... see below for full disk archive)

Its the PC Version... Japanese I believe. There is a translated read-me inside the Zip.
Besides... I'm the LaserActiveGuy on youtube! Merry Christmas... Tom!

PS. Find my PC1 Pac video and post any info you find, I almost bought one a couple of years ago but decided it was too much for me at the time... (yeah, like Myst or Time Gal wasn't expensive?!?)

Thank you so very much for this Tommy, however the .zip is incomplete we are missing files, they are called LAC.exe and RSDRV.sys can you check again and see if you have those anywhere, without them i cannot get the sample files to run.

    Many Thanks
    Rick

Whoops..... I never had need to actually use the files, but I sent them to a guy 3 years ago and he said he could access something with them... I went back into my mail archives... and sure enough there are a couple files that didn't get transferred with my 'current archiving system'.... I have no idea how or why. I'll upload the new archive and post a link... (I'm glad those things were still there?!?!)

Update: Heres the link to the full floppy (I hope)?!?

Thank you tommy for finding these extra files for me, will let you know once i test the unit.

Good news it worked, I was able to load a dlc sample file into the lac_ibm program and then dump it to the laseractive pc pac at 9600 baud, it uses only com1 and no way to change it, also it requires a straight through serial cable. thank you once again so much for finding these. Now i have got to figure out how to use the sample files now that they are loaded into the laseractive.

Merged a few posts in here. Remember to use the edit button if the last post is yours and is less than a week old. Certainly, where it's only been a few hours, you should be editing that post rather than starting another. Thanks!

It worked like a champ, here are pics for everyone to enjoy, it shows the player, the PAC-PC1 front and back , the laserdiscs that the samples in the pc software will run - all of them, the software running through various phases and finally showing the laserdisc images with the superimposed software controls waiting for you to press a key on the remote to issue a command.

Fascinating stuff Catalyst! Thanks for sharing these photos and good to see the thing in action. I suspect you can make your own 'programs' using movie discs, like a Back To The Future motif. Can you also have an option to put selection menus to make a 'Choose Your Own Adventure'...? that's what I always thought you could do with it.

Yes you can put selection menus, in fact that is the only way you can visually make a determination of what to do next, there is no way to add joystick or keyboard input to the selection process, it is all done with the remote control, so you watch the laserdisc video, a menu comes up, you make the selection, it jumps to the location or plays a selection a certain way - fast - slow - strobe ,etc and then you get another menu that is pretty much all there is to it.
