    I'm looking for people with HDD dumps of that machine, for analysis.

    If what I'm planning works right, it could mean bringing dead units back to life. :thumbsup:

    Edit: At the title I meant DVR, not DVD. Sorry for the typo... -_-;

    It would be good if you could do this l_oliveira.

    I am sure some one would have a dump of it.
    If not, you could ask I think it was Cyberghost to dump his (just guide him how though) as he had 2 dead PSX's.

    One of mine works ok, But the other needs a hard drive. I've recently been asking around and no one can help me clone my good drive, Ive tried software that can supposedly clone drives sector by sector, regardless of the format, but everything fails... I've heard of some ways but I dont want to try anything that could potentially mess up my original drive... and knowing me, I could easily mess up my original drive...

    If I got an image though, I would be more than happy to share with assemblergames.

    Also, DESR-5000/5100/7000/7100 only support older operating system, I think version 1.31 or something like that. DESR-5500/7500/5700/7700 support up to version 2.10. an image with the older software would be best, I would assume any one with any of the models could use it. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

    The right tool to do the job is Winhex. :thumbsup:

    It not only is "forensic sound" (as it preserves the structures and do not attempt to analyze the data unless you tell it to) it can also compress harddrive images as they're read if you use the native .whx format. :thumbsup:

    It's a "bit of an expensive" piece of software... But just as IDA, for the reverse engineering people out there it's a BIG HELP of a TOOL. :thumbsup:
