Back before the PS2 launched there was tech demos of Squall and Rinoa dancing in real time and Reiko Nagase (of Ridge Racer fame) walking down a catwalk. We're these ever available in user-controllable form or as 1st generation videos on press kits?

I'd love to see them in their original quality.

From what I know, the tech demo of Final Fantasy VIII only serves to demonstrate that the ps2 can do, such as playing the CG cutscenes in the ps1, but in real time, and does not have a playable version. It's like Final Fantasy 6 CG. If there is still, I believe that is not playable.

Even if that's the case I'd like to have the videos in 1st generation quality if they're out there. Thanks for responding. :)

Except FF CGI Demo was not running on Nintendo 64.

It was more like a teaser trailer than a technical demo. I think it was done just to show the art of the game and the playability, not the graphics itself.

you're right. But this demo is in the engine that was originally used in games of nintendo 64, Silicon Graphics.

And I think the only place where you can find the video of that FF VIII on PS2, is on youtube.
