I'm looking for XDK recovery disc 5455 for the original xbox. I am working on trying to find values for Halo 1 on the original xbox and read that this dashboard will allow for all debug features to work. Thanks in advance:)

I've got the 5455 kernel, but not a recovery and the corresponding disc files.

I don't have the discs, I have XDKRecovery5849.exe and the dash files for XDK 4627. I guess I'm looking for XDKRecovery5455.exe, but the kernel for 5455 might help.

The 5455 kernel is included with 5849, I'm not sure what to do with the file.

The kernel itself is some odd size, or at least the kernel I have is, and I don't think it could be flashed on to the TSOP. If I recall correctly, it did come from the 5849 symbols directory. I think debug and or dev kits have the ability to cdboot (boot a kernel from a disc). This wouldn't be a permanent fix but it would allow you access the debug features temporarily. I'll try dig up some information on it. Might still run into some issues with the odd sized kernel though.

Edit: I'm seeing that the cdboot is an option set by the bootloader, so I'm not exactly sure which types of xdks have this ability. The ones that do however, should be able to boot a cd with a file called XBOXROM.BIN and xbdm.dll in the root directory.

XBOXROM.BIN being the kernel, and xbdm being the debug monitor.

I don't have many specifics on the issue. The cd might need to be in xiso format.

Also it appears that they go out of their way to prevent downgrading to certain releases and it will flat out reject them.

Thanks for the info. I never knew booting a kernel from a disc was even an option. I was however able to establish a connection using the Halo CE Debug 2276 build with Xbox7887's modified xbdm.dll. I would have liked to use a retail copy of halo but this should work for what I need to accomplish. I dumped the memory with Yelo Debugger and found the values I need...well I think I have as there's no way to poke the values. Now I just have to get the values to break in Visual Studio 2003:)
