From some googling, it seems like its a direct port with all the addons/extras and just upscaled. Basically all the complaints are that for "HD" it still looks like crap - other than that, its res 4. Will grab it on xbox, purely for ease. (and achievements!)
yeah go for it it was never designed as a HD game so upscaling is the best you will get, looked fuckin good back in the day even without the upscaling
I absolutely loved 1 & 2, 3 wasn't that great as far as I was concerned, never played 4 (but I'm going to at some point), and I'm about 80% through 5. An excellent series which seems to be going from strength to strength, unlike my beloved Silent Hill which seems to have been crushed by the American companies who've taken the series under their wings. BOOOO!!
totally agree, the first 2 Silent Hill games were absolutely amazing, 3 lost its way somewhere along the line and 4 (the room?) was just shocking in comparison to the other games
I think I was one of the only people that thought obscure on the original xbox was pretty good (and coop!)

I never felt motivated to complete Resident Evil 5. I don't know why. I enjoyed Resident Evil 4 very much though, as well as 3. I was going to attempt to play and complete the first one back in 2003 but I never got past that flooded room with the sharks if I remember correctly. Maybe I will go back to it some time... I still have my save from back then. But I have never tried 2.
do you mean the PS1 version or the GC version? i haven't got round to completing Resident Evil 0 or Resident Evil Remake on the GC yet, saving them for a rainy day lol
I love 1,2 & 3 which carried on from the first one and was just as brutal visually. I come to like the room years after release after giving it another chance in 2009/10 on PS2. Nowhere near as good as the first 3. Then Shattered memories and homecoming shat all over the franchise, I still haven't completed homecoming because it offended me that much. Origins on PSP and PS2 is a decent game which almost lives up to the first three, definitely recommended if you're a fan and want a fix with a new character/story (I really quite enjoyed it). The PS2 version isn't just a direct port of the PSP one which is refreshing, they up-scaled the textures ect which was nice. I'm really looking forward to playing remake and zero, just need enough money for a chipped wii.
I never understood this racist thing when it first came around... It was set in Africa, where most people are black.... Would setting a game in a mostly white country, than have all the white people being zombies also be racist? I dont get it :shrug:
I knew someone would say that, but that's not why RE5 could've been seen as racist. It's the spear-wielding, war paint wearing black people, especially when it's revealed that a virus made them act that way, as if black people had some recessed tendencies to turn into that.
Not all of them though... plenty of them using guns, trucks, etc. I imagine there are still tribes around in africa etc? It seemed to cover all sections without focusing on just the "spears and war paint". You seemed to go across africa and saw all different parts. You do know that Africa's population is mainly Black don't you? around 80% of the countries population actually so can you explain how by depicting most of the characters in Resident Evil 5 as Black is in some way racist? I mean if you make the statement you should be able to back it up? Edit: just read your reply above: As far as i remember most of them were depicted as using tools of various sorts, which if you had begun to lose your mind (which they are said to be doing) surely it makes sense that they would make weapons out of whatever they had lying around also spears are a part of African culture, so why wouldn't they have them? they can also use them extremely well for hunting etc. so again i ask why would they not include them? in fact if you are able to hunt with a spear effectively you are actually shown as being a cut above the rest
I will have to get hold of Origins on he PS2 and see how it goes, can't use a PSP to save my life, found them too uncomfortable to use for long periods Can't you get away with a simple softmod? (been out of the Wii game along time now) but i remember the drive mods were only running about £25 delivered last time i ordered one
