I actually enjoyed the first one. It's not a great movie, but it does not suck. Just compare it to other movies based on games. Oh, and that ending was pretty cool.

Don't have big hopes for the sequel, but if it keeps the same level of the first it will be, at least, a good entertainment for a sunday aftertnoon.

 

Never saw the first one but heard it was kinda lame....

Well he ruined AvP and considering his track record and since he is still involved in this sequel it will probably suck aswell.

 

I still think the title Resident Evil is whack. Biohazard was much cooler. Did they ever say why Capcom effed it up in the west?

for the first resident evil, i can't really comment on it due the fact that i never saw it, but it look too hollywoodish to me and not dark at all.

 

Paul WS Anderson rapes any franchise he comes across. Alien vs Predator as a PG-13 movie. WTF?

I still stand by opinion that George Romero's RE script was far superior. The man invented the zombie movies that Resident Evil ripped off. How could it get any better than that?

As for why Capcom had to call it Resident Evil for the rest of the world instead of Biohazard is because the band Biohazard had already tradmarked the name elsewhere.

 

ya know... I knew I had heard that somewhere before. Maybe they should've called it Lipohazard.

 

You have a point there. Biohazard is way cooler.

Anyway, for those you that didn't saw the first one, i suggest you to rent it. Like i said it's not the best movie ever, but it's not the worst either.

I liked some parts of it, specially the creepy ending. Anyway i would give it a 7 out of 10.

Honestly though, I was disapointed with the film. Could have been alot better....but could have been alot worse ^_^

I'm glad that dude isn't directing again......I didn't think he did a good job in the first movie and he did a terrible job in AvP.

But hey, Jill Valentine is in this film....so I guess its kinda more like the games.

Actually i found out it was fox's decision to make the movie pg-13, anderson actually wanted an r rating, however his excuse for resident evil is that the whole thing was changed to suprised fans, although it really pissed off fans more then anything. I never bothered seeing the first one, but i;m sure its nowhere near as bad as the live action street fighter movie.

 

Comparing it to movies like Street Fighter, Double Dragon and Super Mario Brothers, makes Resident Evil a masterpiece oscar winner :smt082

But what the hell. Rent it, or get it on DivX. Just watch. You probably see worse movies, so why no try a average one :smt023
