Team from pscd.ru relised demo version Resident Evil for Sega Megadrive/Genesis Original news from http://www.emu-land.net
While I can appreciate the art style being pursued, I'd still be interested to see if the backgrounds can be made to display more colours, as it seems as if the sprites have a much larger palette (even though this is probably not the case - it's likely due to so much detail being packed into a small overall number of pixels instead of these having large, basic areas). Still, this is quite impressive for a fan effort, and the developers have every chance of beating Team IGAS to the punch by having something BioHazard-related out this side of hell freezing over! How long before they'll incorporate more than just characters from the sequel? Please don't let Capcom find out about this any time soon...
Well they're in Russia so they don't need to worry about anything Capcom will really do. Literally nobody in Russia cares about copyright laws, including the authorities.
Link to the demo? I couldn't find it in the mess of a language I dont understand lol Never mind I found it.
So... in other words, Team IGAS and Gemini need to seriously consider relocating to Russia if they want to continue "restoring" the BioHazard 2 prototype to a retail standard without facing the potential legal repercussions of Capcom?
This is an an exaggeration, although somewhat true. Bootlegs of x360 games, blurays and other media are, in fact, still available. However, they've become harder to get by.
It's absolutely an exaggeration, I was speaking in the context of what Capcom would be capable of doing to a fan project by Russian Citizens hosted on Russian servers.
In todays world I could imagine some crazy people trying to max out the Genesis...maybe not like the image below using 61 colors at once...but....
Yep. The Mega Drive Yamaha chip is very powerful for what it is. The only thing that really limits it is the size of the cartridge data. The demo above is 8meg in size. That's not 8mbit say like Strider but 8MB. In other words, if the titan demo was on a cartridge it would be a 64mbit cartridge!!
