I doubt it will fail myself but I felt it was worth asking.

The reason I asked for it was as a form of proof that the prototypes are genuine. (Of course, I haven't seen the images, though.)

Facepalm for those people that believed in a distorted view of this fundraiser. Do them realise that this is actually VERY VALUABLE? And that this is a UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY FOR THE FANS OF RESIDENT EVIL?

Are you posting it on the crazy rabid Resi fans forums? Those guys would pay anything for proto's.

Also Kiff, I guess you didn't get my PM, but if you're still after that case, sort a time to come pick it up, and it's yours for free if you donate whatever you were paying to this.

You guys should probably remember that Joystiq was the same piece of journalistic crap that wrote their article about the release of the FDS Zelda prototype in a manner that not-so-subtly implied that they believed it was a hoax. It's best to just ignore them - they profit from your attention.

It's rather pathetic that videogame news blogs have been reduced to being like yellow journalism and junk tabloids, purposely saying what they know will incite anger in order to give their publication attention.

Quote from some douchebag on Joystiq:

"I have email Capcom (or at least through the Capcom-Unity forum) to make sure Capcom was aware of this ransom. Will they care? We'll find out. Hopefully we will see that forum shut down for their illegal activity."

Pay them no heed. There's not much you can say to people who don't know the difference between a sale and a 'ransom'.

I'm on many, i should get around to posting this on all resi sites before capcom does find out about this and shut the whole shit down. It blows my mind why someone wants to ruin this for EVERYONE who wants these builds and never EVER thought they would get the chance to even touch them. Some people have to much time on their hands. For me, as a hardcore RE fan from day one, following every game and knowing about every beta...... the fact that TWO builds of this GBC resident evil is about to see the day of light, it's almost as good as a 1.5 release. Not at that level but you all know where i'm coming from.

This is definitely up there in my top 3 resident evil unreleased releases i'v been waiting for. Of course we knew there were other builds of this game but never really had much to go off of to show which build was which..... now knowing TWO different builds are right in the palm of our hands, that's pretty sweet. I hope we don't reach the goal by Friday so i can send in some money, i really want to play these and i don't want to be left out in the cold.

I remember reading about this in gaming magazines back in the day, and was very impressed with it (for GBC standards). It will be so cool to finally get our hands on it!

    Just donated $50

Bloody hell, look at the amount of views for this topic. No wonder the pictures have ran out of bandwidth.

Ha ha, any topic related to an unreleased Resident Evil game is going to have the most views without a doubt. With that being said, can the pictures be re-upped? they are nice.

How is this "NON PROFIT" if the seller retains the cart?
Maybe I have misread, and they are indeed selling the physical thing. If not, then they aren't taking any sort of hit unless the physical game leaves their possession.
I don't have a problem with it, but don't misrepresent it. At any time, the seller can sell the physical copy well after the "fundraiser" is done.

The carts, while still collectibles, will be worth a LOT less than $2000 once the game is released.

    Game is unreleased
    Game is worth $2k+
    Rom gets released
Game is worth much much less, as anyone can now download it. The people willing to pay big money are the ones who like having things no one else has.

The guy paid more than 2k, he is just trying to make up what he will lose in value when it is released. Therefore, its not "for profit" if the value is lost once the rom is released.

Quite simple really, its not worth the same amount once the rom is released.

How about you buy it from him, then release it for free on the internet - as you said its "pure profit" so you arent losing anything, right?
