RFoM has been nominated for a BAFTA award in the UK. However, the Dean of Manchester Cathedral (The Very Rev Rodgers Govender) feels this merely pours yet more fuel onto the fire surrounding one particular scene. I think we all know that Manchester Cathedral was filmed and used without the permission &/or consultation of those responsible for the upkeep of the building. The net result is what is being coined ''virtual desecration'' of sacred or religious buildings or monuments, as a gunfight takes place in and around the Cathedral. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/7030576.stm Funnily enough Sony were not available to comment on the award, but my guess is they are not particularly interested.
yes, there's plenty of that light fired these days in the Middle East. I wish there was a man with enough balls to stand up and explain the hypocricy of the various religious organizations in their face. Including all Christian branches of course.
I think there are plenty of people who have actually stood up (or attempted to) in pointing out hypocracy. Throughout the ages they've been called a variety of things - my personal favourite being "heretic". This thread does have the possibility of becoming very O/T very quickly lol
LOL, I couldn't resist....ance, fall of man! Damn it! It was never going to go anywhere anyway, I was just pointing out the news.
Most Christians just politely spread the Words of Christ. Anything with Branches are just a falsehood using Christ's teachings as a stepping stool to manufactered power. Ever notice there's no evangelical Pope? Yet Catholics, and Episcopals have a hierarchy........
"Spreading the word" - I say everyman keeps it to himself out of courtesy and respect for the other's opinion
