I was just wondering if there are any mods for any systems out there to effectively convert a retail console into a debugging unit for use by their respective SDKs (Wii->RVT Unit, PS2 Retail -> Test/Tool, GameCube->TDEV, etc..) Also, I don't mean like rebug, I mean like having a legit test or debug unit sans the extra ports. I'm mainly curious about the PS2 but other consoles intrigue me. If there aren't, then I'm sorry to have been a waste of time, but I'm desperately looking for a cost efficient hardware debugging solution (as I'm broker than broke right now)

You can do it on PS3 if under certain firmware. The features however did not work correctly.

XBox's just need to have 64mb worth of ram soldered in and a debug BIOS either flashed to the TSOP or to a modchip. Pretty easy.

I've finished soldering in 32mb of the 64 in an XBox but before I finish I need to pop in a modchip and see if the XBox can recognize what I've put in so far. Doesn't FRAG so that's a plus.
