Has anyone tooled around with patching a retail executable so that it will run on a debug? Given that a number of debugs seem to be landing in members hands it might be a decent project to look at.

I haven't had any luck, although I haven't been able to mess around with it like I would like, mostly because of the massive amount of homework I have at school.

If anyone figures something out, please let me know.

    Has work been done: Yes.
    Is it possible: Yes.
Will the tool be released: Probably not due to the impact it would have on the beta/review market.

(and before you go saying a tool was released for xbox1 and it didn't affect market, dexbe doesn't preserve partnernet access like my tool does, and it left an obvious watermark)

You shouldn't talk about it then. You know what it could do...

You're best off burying that tool in your "personal use" folder.

Well since this is something that would actually be of use to anyone with a debug system and since I seem to have a bit more time lately, I figure I might as well start looking into it. Can't promise anything, but hey if I can get it up and running, awesome. Anyone out there who also wants something like this, please feel free to jump in and help out.

The first iteration will probably be some sort of patching program. This is annoying because it would require dumping a disc, patching the software and then reburning the disc, but it'll work.

The second iteration (which probably wouldn't be for a long while if I end up messing around with this solo) would be a software app running on the debug 360 itself that allowed the retail signature to get recognized as valid. I'd personally hope that if I can get the first iteration working that someone else can build on that work and get the second iteration running.

Anyone who has already spent time working/researching in this area is more than welcome to help out. I'd certainly appreciate any and all assistance.

So, for those of you who do know how to load retail games on debug 360s, have you managed to get the Halo 3 beta running?
