He Didnt confirm anything... Seems pretty likely though, easy money for sega. Had an idea about the pad shape with backward compatibility in mind a whiile back - I'm imagining basically a saturn 3d pad, with one extra analogue stick, and possibly shoulder buttons as well as triggers. 6 buttons means compatibility with genesis 6 button pad, saturn, n64. analogue stick means N64 and GC are simply to play (although layout would be a little odd for GC). Would also be a decent pad for "normal" games, covering most possibilities
Imagine having every SMS game for play, as well as every nes game. Sound like it's going to be a great day when rev comes out.
NES/SNES/N64/GC VB/GB/GBC Mark III/SMS/MD/... Saturn? This would be really really nice, especially if you were to be able to download games from all regions... SNK and NEC would be nice as well...
Yeah pretty likely as there wasn't much like a catalogue... I doub N64DD will be included as well, they could recreate the software (browser/mail/Mario Artist) so much better on Revolution in the first place.
Saturn either. And like you said, nothing is confirmed. But the idea of being able to play ps4 on my tv again is just too much.
with all this downloadable content I hope that it will be possible to upgrade/exchange the harddrive/memory-thingy that will hold all of it.. because I don't think 512mb (or what ever it was) will be enough to hold it all.
Whenever I hear "backwards compatible" I think of popping a Saturn disc into a Dreamcast unit, etc. Seems nice though!
Saturn will be possible, but if done it will be distributed on DVD's rather than over the internet, because, as people said 512mb isn't enough. Mind you, by the time it launches SD cards of 1gb will probably be the norm and not too pricey, so anythings possible. If saturn is done I expect there will just be a "best of saturn" disk, with something like sonic R, panzer Dragoon, Daytona etc. The big releases. They'll be able to fit 10 games + emulator easily on a 9gb dvd, even without any compression
I already have on my Dreamcast  The best way top play Master System and NES in RGB !! Still, it is a very nice idea but we'll all have to wait and see what happens. Yakumo
Saturn... never..ever.. you can bet both kidneys on that. Think anything 16 bit and older. Or enhanced and ready for download.
The 16bit and 8bit stuff is much easier to emulate now, than the Saturn, which has yet to recieve a decent emulator because it is so hard to program and figure out how it works. Will there be N64 backward compatability?
That is never going to happen outside of illegal emulation. Just trying to figure out who now own half of that stuff now would make it a pain in the ass legally.
Yeah but what's it going to cost? I can't see them giving away all these games, there has to be a "gotcha" somewhere.
I've heard $5 floating around many places as the price. Sounds reasonable, although perhaps with a time limited demo for free...
