I'm not talking about the functions built into the "remote" itself (i.e. pointing), I'm talking about the add-on devices which have to be purchased separately. It is those games that we will not see very often unless there is a very widespread adoption of a peripheral.
im not bias towards nintendo or anything, but people bitched back when the NES came out, screaming "how can you have a videogame with out a joystick" of course that was the NES digital pad, and well look at it now.....nintendo's trying something different, they wont break there kiddie image anytime soon, and they just dont have the market share(or what you want) to attract gamers, so try something new, see what happens.....its still way to early to judge this.......
And people had the same reservations with the Analoge stick and Rumble, but now it's all standard fair I, for one, am veru interested in this controlller, and I do think it will work
I think it'll work as well, I'm so excited about the possiblitlies. And that mock-up from IGN makes NO SENSE whatsoever. From what I've read, the controller would slide in sideways, with the Dpad on the left and the A and B buttons on the right, and then the normal buttons surrounding it. Not sure where I read that, but it makes sense to me.
whatever, this next generation is proving to be the best yet.......i certainly cant wait........now nintendo made a blurb about something in october?....they gonna have a show come october?........
i think this thing will work. I definitivly think that nintendo will gain some points and i think they're slowly losing their ''kiddie'' look, first with TP, now with that sleek design.
Everyone I've talked to at the game store I work at have been psyched about the Revo controller. Except the diehard Xbox fans. My mind is currently racing with ideas for uses for the controller...
it would have been cool to have a gyro though...imagine fishing games with it...oohhhh... seriously, this is the perfect console for shooters. It's like if you have a gun in your hands, and there's no joystick to control the view. It's precise and quick. B to shoot. A for action/reload (or maybe a quick up down movement to reload? ) The cross to switch guns, grenades and blabla, Z1 and 2 to Crunch and Jump. A special movement with the remote could make you do a melee attack or something (like a fliping, or an imcomplete one anyway), and a roling could make your head peek to see around corners . But right now, i'm just thinking about controlling NiGHTS with The remote and my two hands...
"apparently" october is when Nintendo will explain how "Nintendo WiFi" applies to the Revolution, chances are it is also when they will give it its proper name as IGN and co pointed out that "Revolution" had been removed from the base unit and it was essentially unnamed. I personally love that rumor that went around saying it would be called the NE5 , it made me smile. But it seems somewhat unlikely, dunno why. As far as the addons go, the folks over @ [4colorrebellion] have some cool addon mockups listed. The zapper one made me smile.
the controller itself is already a zapper. So no needs for that. The NE5? sounds cool, but i doubt it is true, too. I like ''revolution'' alot. It sounds cool, and it explain the machine a bit. i don't want to hear things like game cube or playstation anymore...it just sounds...bad, i want a name, you know? not two words fusioned together. I doubt there will be alot of add ons. Maybe something for RTSs, Another Joystick with a different layout/buttons/capabilities, and maybe one or two other thing, but that's just like in the old days: A zapper, An arcade stick, A funky controller (max anyone?) and a racing wheel, those are also add-ons. Are they used? Yes.
