I have had the discussion with my teacher a couple of times about 8 Track tapes. He's told me that you can rewind 8 Tracks. I've told him each time that we've had this discussion that an 8 Track tape is a continuous loop and cannot be rewound. I have a Panasonic TNT Model 8 Track Player and if the 8 Track Tapes were able to be rewound, wouldn't the player have a rewind button? I would like to hear what you guys know/think.

Impossible the tension is too tight, the tape is pulled up at an angle, to put it pack in you would have to put it at a downward angle for it to even work on a hypothetical basis, in practice however you would run into the problem of the tape stretching after just 1 or 2 turns. The guy is full of it, 8 track was a good format with a terrible mechanical design. I highly doubt that the guy even knows what an 8 track is.
