I think he means phono jacks external to the connector so he could use a stereo or something.

If your TV is stereo and has more than one SCART socket, it may output audio on one (if not all) the other sockets, and you could just get a SCART to RCA-Out adaptor (not RCA in, like the ones that come with the PS2/GC/Xbox). If it's not a stereo TV, it'll only be mono though... and it probably won't have more than one socket anyway.

Ok, I soldered 2 phono cables ont Pin 1 and 3 of the scart. However I am only getting sound from 1 channel. I had to cut them, so I get no sound from the TV (as expected) but only the right chanel works. I tested it with my amp meter thing and it's all good. Does any one know what the hell I've done wrong?

Yeah, but the signal is coming OUT of the scart - the item the diagram is for. Why would a scart reverse it's terminology (and logic).

    *sigh*

SCART is a TV connector. The pinout you have is to tell you what it is at the TV.

The audio is coming OUT of the console and going IN to the TV.

So, the pin marked audio OUT on the console (well there isn't an in!) goes into the IN on the TV.

Now, the sound always was and always will be coming from the console. So where do you attach the wires?

    *rolls eyes*

p.s. should be selling such leads on Saturn Planet soon ;-)

I am a professional audio engineer, I wire silly stuff like this nearly every day of my life. This is the first time I have ever seen the cable labled with what it goes into rather than what it is.

The pin is an out put.

I dunno, you crazy TV guys....

  18. It's French? :smt043 All kidding aside, I still wish we in NTSC land had some kind of standard RGB connector ages ago for TVs...
