hi, i'm looking for a not too expansive rgb(scart) to yuv(component) converter, since my tv has no rgb(scart) input, but i would like to hook-up my older consoles via rgb(scart), since composite sucks pretty much. the only one i found is this here on ebay, but its sold in the us. dose anyone know a place here in europe/germany where they sell these things too? http://www.ebay.de/itm/SEGA-SCART-t...=US_Audio_Cables_Adapters&hash=item564f2d3151 the problem is that it dosent have outputs for the sound from the scart, which would make it pretty cumbersome to get the sound. richard
This is relevant to my interests. I too need a good converter, but I'm in the opposite boat, I'm in the US.
I got one from JS Technology and they work great http://www.js-technology.com/store/product.php?id_product=14
@Fandangos, i saw that earlier, but it seems pretty expansive, i would buy it, if it wouldnt cost that much . that would be perfect i think.
I used one of them, it gave a much nicer picture with an Xbox with an RGB scart lead to an LCD TV then it seem to do wtih a standard Xbox component box.
Hmm very interesting... I have 2 of the initial SCART to component converters, 1 that is shared between my Mega Drive/32X/MCD and SMS2 to my old CRT TV, the other is used for my Dreamcast on the LCD TV. Both modded for audio output.
Hmmm, I recently bought an Xbox component cable but i got some of a weird ghost flashing effect artifacts on the screen, Its faint but annoying and it does not happen with S-video. Ill try the cable on another machine to see if the problem is not internal.
You can! Just solder a set of wires to the left and right audio pins on the SCART connector. There's not much room on the shell to mount two RCA jacks, so a 3.5mm headphone jack with a headphone to RCA cable would be the tidy solution.
