    Hi,

I bought a TV 4k that dont have entrance scart, only adapters for composite and component. I was searching for a conversor Scart for YUV and thought in purchasing the CVS287, but i dont see much information about it, Its posible that someone can indicate me a web site or shop where i can purchase it? It was thinking in buying something until 30 Dollars

I know that is not the best converter, but i'm looking for a Cheap solution so i can play all my old consoles on the new television. I think that i'll have a better solution with a scart to YUV converter than a Scart - Hdmi converter because of the lag, but if i'll like to know your opinion.

And yes, i already looked on google, ebay, amazon but without great sucess

I'm from Portugal by the way.

    Thanks in advance

no they are all around 45 now, this guy is the only one in the US that even has them. don't use the scart to HDMI, its junk. i use the component one, BUT big chances are that your new TV won't support 240p component, so this may not work anyway.

I've tried Sega Genesis unmodded (or mega drive in europe) with composite cable and works, ps2 conected via component worked too (with ps2 games, i didnt tryed with ps1 games) soo i believe that i'll be fine (but correct me if i'm wrong). The issue is that when i connect my genesis modded with rgb the tv dont sync the image, so i'm looking for a cheap converter to play it (because composite have really bad quality)

Do you have Disgaea Hour of Darkness? That would be a fairly easy to find ps2 game to test.
Virtually anything ps1 uses 240p, even a scratched disc only sports title from a thrift shop.

I'll try a ps1 game today running on Ps2 and give too you a feedback

@Lum i've made some tests and ps2 conected with component cable plays ps1 games perfectly then i've tried to connect that component cable to ps1 but didn't work. I've saw the resolution and was always @ 576i so... what to espect? it will work or not with the conversor?

As long as the picture looks okay it should work.

the ps2 allows component for ps1 games.
actual ps1 consoles never supported component.

Buy a used dvd recorder with yuv output, plug everything there through scart and let the device pass through the signal to your tv.

@Hazuki I thought in that solution but some people say that it exists a big lag, you already test it with a dvd recorder?

Just to update, i gave up to buy scart to YUV converter and bought a scart to hdmi converter (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-EU-SCA...hash=item2106c8c48e:m:mTjjyw5yFryu5nLNwk2optg)

The feedback that i saw was that in 720p this device have a 1.4 frame lag so, i think that is reasonable. I dont want to 1080 and full screen, i just want 4:3 and a little bether image on my tv.

Thanks for you reply, i've already look at this, but i think is too expensive, on ebay i found it for 65€ with shiping, on my country (Portugal) i've found one for 140€.. i think its too much to a converter that only converts do component. For that price i'll buy a OSSC for example.

I know that is not the best solution (what i bought) but if the lag is minimal i really dont care. If the lag is huge i'll have to get Money for a OSSC

I have the box that you bought. If you want to plug your old consoles to a new tv, it does the job but the image while moving gets blurry. Especially in 2d games the problem is extremely obvious.

I am expecting some issues on the image, but you are conecting composite or rgb on the scaler?? And the lag input? its a little or huge one?

I don't remember any lag issues. I have played some PS2 games through it and I didn't have any issues.
