    Happy New year to all.

I have received my Rhea v3 from Denuan (the guy that made the GDemu) but am having trouble getting the correct files to run on it.

All the games I have for Saturn are BIN format - which I usually burn with IMGBURN.

However Rhea doesn't support BIN/cue it's preferred file format is cdi.

How do I convert a BIN file (or BIN/cue) to cdi? I've managed to get the BIN to an ISO file but that's no good :(

if the rhea v3 is for the Saturn (thats what it sounds like its for) but the saturn doesnt support cdi formats, its either bin/cue or mfd (?) formats

Hi, I didn't have a Rhea unit but I've planned to get it when Deunan will add support to 21 PIN Saturn.
Anyway, you have to mount your .BIN file images on a virtual CD unit using Daemon Tools under your O.S. and then use DiscJuggler to rip them as .CDI.

I decided to email Deunan direct and he responded with pretty much the same as you said caius.

I managed to convert some of my BIN files to cdi ok and have put them in numbered folders (01,02,03 etc) like how I do with my GDemu and have renamed each cdi file as 'disc.cdi' but the Saturn won't seem to recognise any.

It always comes up briefly saying 'checking disc format' then straight away says 'drive empty'

I can see that the files are definitely cdi files now so not quite sure what the problem is. I have emailed Deunan again so will see if he has any idea.

Oh and Kappa - he said cdi format works best on Rhea

    [UPDATE]

Managed to get it working, bit of a silly problem I was having - I simply re named each disc file to 'disc' rather than 'disc.cdi' and every game I have tried has worked perfectly!

Probably file format extension is hidden on your operating system.

When he has more available for sale, he'll repost his email/contact information on his webpage under the ordering link: https://gdemu.wordpress.com/ordering/

Contacting him beforehand will probably only put you on the do not sell to list.

When converting .bin files to .cdi using Daemon Tools and Disc Juggler, what settings do you use in DJ?

    Try...

    1) scan gaps/indexes

    2) r-w (cd+g)

    3) pq

    4) raw read

Hi everyone, got the rhea easy install.
I’m wondering how everyone is getting their images to work, most the images I have found for saturn are bin/cue , rarely I come across a mds/mdf which work without any problems, are you all able to mount the bin/cue with daemon tools and convert to cdi with discjuggler without any problems?I havent had any sucess with bin/cue.
    I used discjuggler with advanced:scan gaps/indexes – r-w (cd+g) – pq – raw read.

was given a site where most seem to be iso+ape images, how are you convertig them?
I have not been able to get a working cdi from isos that are iso+ape , iso+wav or iso+mp3 Ive noticed the cdi is very small like it only creates a cdi from the iso and does not include the sound tracks, the cue included cannot be mounted on daemontools, are you mounting the cue or the iso?

    [UPDATE]

I was finally able to mount the cue after decompressing the ape to wav, converted with discjuggler advanced:scan gaps/indexes – r-w (cd+g) – pq – raw read.
The saturn recognizes the image as a music cd, I can play the music and its from the game but how can I get it to boot as a game?
All games I get to cdi format are recognized as a music cd,shows the number of music tracks and I can play the music and its from the game but how can I get it to boot?

I'm getting the same issue. Converted games to CDI, but Saturn only sees them as audio tracks. What version of Disc Juggler is everyone using? I'm running version 6.

Glad Im not the only one with that problem, im using ver6 also, tried diferent versions all give me the same result, daemontools lite from the site and rips from acouple of different sites anything I convert to cdi gives me that problem only audio tracks.

I downloaded some mdf/mds and they work great only cdi are giving me problems.

Can someone who has some working cdi images please upload 1 or 2 somewhere so we can try them and see if they will run? I would like to find out if its our system, the rhea, the source/bad rips or a configuration problem with either daemontools or discjuggler.

Any help is really apreciated Ive been at this for days and I cant figure out why cdi wont boot as a game and only as a audio cd.

Merged some double/triple posts. Please remember to edit your own posts if a week hasn't passed without someone else replying, rather than double posting. There's also a multi-quote button, should you need to quote several people.

    Thanks!

I used UltraISO to convert BIN/ISO to MDF format since I don't have discJuggler. It works sometimes. but not every images.

Generally, I have been able to convert bin/cue (all of them split by tracks and verified with redump.org) with the above procedure, using Daemon tools lite 4.46... and Discjuggler 6. However, I had problems with Puyo Puyo Sun (Puyo Puyo Sun (Japan) (Rev A) (10M)) freezing at a black screen whenever entering a highscore. This was perfectly reproducible.
I went back to Discjuggler and tried different settings. Ticking "scan gaps/indexes" and "RAW read" but leaving R-W and PQ alone gave me a fully working image!

Is there any rationale for using these settings? I wonder if the PQ subcode gets messed up with saturn games that have strange pregap times? Puyo puyo for example has 2:01 while the other games I tried has 2:00.

Would be interesting to hear if anyone can reproduce this problem
