I figured I would just start a thread for this to keep the info all in place. I had a successful test last night, so in theory there is nothing from stopping this project from going forward. This was my first proto: This proto failed, everything worked as planned. Except the rhea itself threw an error when the bus switches were flipped for the it to read the sd card. The MCU had no trouble reading and modifying the SD Card using the spi interface. So at this point I had a few theories: The rhea uses an sd protocol (not spi) and the bus switches I chose just are compatible. OR I'm getting interference with the long wiring from board to the sd card jumper. I received this test pcb yesterday to determine where I needed to go next. It is just a simple jumper that removes the wiring from the equation. All the sd signals are sent through the bus switch. Success! The rhea has no problem with these bus switches. Now I need to redesign my original proto and make the sd jumper directly part of the board itself eliminating the wiring.
