this is all first gen stuff, it'll definitely do better just give it time....don't think it'll ever get close the psp graphically but it's gonna be impressive once it's understood nonetheless.

  3. Not that graphics should be the deciding factor on how good a game is...

Give DS developers time to get their heads out of their asses and not just bring us updated ports of N64 games, and I guarantee you'll see some good racers - maybe even another decent Ridge Racer.

PSP Ridge Racers does look amazing, id be happy with that on a proper console.

IMO DS shouldnt bother with 3D games if they are gonna look like complete ass.

I'm sure the graphics will be better; the graphics in Super Mario 64 DS are better than that crap! Why'd Namco even bother?

TBH, I think RR PSP looks kinda asstastical as well. Sure, the sun and everything looks nice, but did you see those textures? Yeesh.

They've been doing the same thing with the GBA by porting SNES games.

  11. It's forgiveable, as the SNES games are GOOD. Ridge Racer 64? Ugh.

The main problem of Ridge Racer DS, in my opinion, are the controls. Playing using the touch screen or the normal control is very bad.

A racing game with no playability = no no

Never played RR 64. Is it good?

Try Asphalt: Urban GT (N-Gage / Nintendo DS), is better.

the question is what happens in with the psp when they know the stuff cause like u said its first gen stuff but its first gen on both psp and ds so maybe the ds has a little problem with 3d power

but wouldnt it be better if they concentrade on originality then try to compete with a bad conversion like ridge racer?

Not really because the PSP is just a PS2 in hand held form so there's nothing really that new to get used to.

for the psp the difficulty may not be the better gfx but maybe to reach longer battery life while remaining the same graphics quality with less cpu power

and with the umd it just has to eat up more power then a solidstate based system, every energy driven spinning thing eats up huge loads of energy (compared to a solidstate media like rom) and its more fragile / sensible (shockresistance =(

It would have been better if they DIDN't port the N64 version but just made an version from scratch...

Nintendo? NOT just do lazy port after lazy port? :smt043

Quite untrue, the PSP is quite different from the PS2 tech-wise. But regardless, that doesn't mean there can't be good or innovative games released for it, right?
