Former actor, radio and television presenter Bob Holness has died, aged 83. Bob was most well known for presenting the quiz show Blockbusters, and also the television version of Call My Bluff (the first was American, so he was the first British actor... although he was born in South Africa shortly before moving here). However, he was also the second actor to play James Bond, in a radio adaptation of Moonraker broadcast 6 years before Sean Connery graced the screen in the role. He was the centre of an urban myth, claiming that he played the saxophone on Baker Street. Whilst it wasn't true, he often played along with it when asked! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-16443263 RIP Bob - another classic entertainer who will be missed. And now I've written all that, can I have a P please, Bob? ;-)
Everyone I grew up watching on TV is dying now. Makes my feel rather depressed. I really don't like the idea of death at all. RIP, Bob.
Expect to suddenly see a new reboot of Blockbusters, much like that horrid 'Jim'll Fix It with Shane Richie' that appeared about 2 weeks after Jimmy Saville died.
