Bob Anderson, legendary swordsman, has died aged 89. Bob was well known in Hollywood, having taught many actors the art of the blade, often stepping in himself as stuntman. His stunt work was often uncredited - examples include The Guns of Navarone, From Russia With Love, Casino Royale, Superman II and the original Star Wars trilogy - during which, he was on-screen several times as Darth Vader, including the scene where Luke loses his hand. Some of the films he worked on as sword master or a stunt arranger include One of our Dinosaurs is Missing, Highlander, The Princess Bride, The Three Musketeers, First Knight, The Mask of Zorro, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Die Another Day and The Legend of Zorro. As you can see, he has worked with some true greats. Amongst his early movies were some where he fought against Errol Flynn. http://www.washingtonpost.com/local...s-dies-at-89/2012/01/02/gIQAmrmyWP_story.html RIP Bob. You were a true legend, and your work will be remembered for a long time.
I swear you are subscribed to some online obituary. Back on topic I loved the empire and return of the jedi, born you will be missed.
R.I.P I love good sword fights in movies! I tried choreographing some when a friend of mine worked on his portfolio to get into art school. Let me tell you, that ain't easy!
I already picked up on this I most certainly think he does. I think he may announce my death one day before I even realise it ;-) Back on topic - we've seen alot of well known people pass recently
Lol, it's called the Internet! Log onto Facebook, and you'll often see someone post about someone who died. They probably heard it on the news either on radio or television. And when that happens, people mention it on social media sites - Twitter will then have that person's name trend, so other people will click on it and realize why. When you log out of Hotmail or Yahoo Mail, it takes you to a headline page. Most phones have some sort of news ticker built in nowadays. And IMDB will announce deaths of big names on the home page. It's quite easy to find out that someone's died without even looking for such information, really. In fact, you almost can't escape it! ;-)
It's a shame Bob Anderson didn't get the proper credit he deserved.. He was truly an epic guy, and the fact that Lucas wanted to keep it secret makes me sick.
