The pro BMX star, rally driver and television presenter Dave Mirra has died aged 41. The cause of death is believed to be suicide. Mirra won medals at every X Games for 10 years, until recently being the record holder with 14 gold medals plus 10 more. This led to a popular line of video games bearing his name and an MTV television show. He also drove a Subaru rally car and participated in the Gumball 3000 rally. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...Dave-Mirra-dies-aged-41-apparent-suicide.html RIP Dave. It would appear another sad victim of depression. Anyone reading this who suffers from depression, please know that there is help out there and suicide will only leave a hole in the lives of your friends and family far greater than what you're feeling. Please talk to friends, your doctor or a helpline and get the help you deserve.
As someone who suffers from depression, and goes through some pretty disquieting moods, I can relate to reasons and motives as to why someone would do this. I appreciate the message @retro. It's sad to see someone have to go like this, especially someone who had a lot going for him. As someone with depression I can say this and make a little joke heh. INB4 #DepressionLivesMatter
What a shame. I played the hell out of both Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 1 & 2. It goes to show depression can affect anybody, no matter how successful or "fulfilling" your life is. My thoughts and prayers go to his wife and two children.
