Eric Sykes, one of Britain's best known comedy actors and writers, has died.

Sykes wrote for several other top comedians, including Tony Hancock, Frankie Howerd, Peter Sellers, Spike Milligan and Harry Secombe. He is probably known throughout the World for his appearances in films such as The Others and Son of Rambow... as well as his narration on Teletubbies!

RIP Eric - a great writer, great comic and great actor - be it comedy or serious.

He will be missed. He was a great comedy writer and the Goon show is a fantastic radio series that everyone should listen to.
