Actor Geoffrey Hughes, best known as Eddie Yates in Coronation Street and Onslow in Keeping Up Appearances, has died after losing his battle with cancer.

He had appeared in both one-off and regular roles in many television shows including Doctor Who, Skins, The Royle Family, Heartbeat, Z Cars, The Likely Lads and Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased). He voiced Paul McCartney in the film Yellow Submarine.

Him as Vernon Scripts in Heartbeat is one of my favourites of his roles. Him in Skins was hilarious aswell. Such a versatile actor.
