The British actor George Cole, OBE has died aged 90, after a short illness.

George's acting career spanned an impressive eight decades. He was known for playing 'Flash' Harry in several St. Trinian's films in the Fifties and Sixties, and often appeared on television over the next few decades. However, his best known role was that of Arthur Daley in Minder, a part he played for 15 years.

I had no idea who you were talking about until I read Arthur Daley. I had no idea he was still alive until his recent death. 90 years old. He did well. Rip

Yes, he hadn't done anything for a few years but was listed in something announced for this year. Whether they filmed, I don't know - perhaps not. A good age, certainly!

Can't complain at dying at 90. Frankly, older than that and you're probably going to get dementia, in which case best not to live longer.
