This one's not for the off topic section... Jack Tramiel, computer pioneer, has died. Jack founded Commodore Business Machines, and later bought part of Atari and founded Atari Corporation. He brought us such legendary machines as the PET, Vic 20, Commodore 64, Atari ST, Atari 7800 and Atari Lynx. A true pioneer in the industry. http://www.forbes.com/sites/davidth...d-gaming-pioneer-jack-tramiel-dies-at-age-83/ RIP Jack, and thanks for your contribution to computers!
RIP There were a few losses from computing last year who went by relatively unnoticed, Tramiel however I was surprised to see pop up on my tumblr dashboard. I wonder what will happen to the Swordquest gear he is said to own.
Wow I didn't know the guy was a holocaust survivor, did the rest of his family survive or just him? RIP, thanks for the ST dude, good luck.
A true pioneer in the industry from Commodore to Atari, a great man. The industry has truly lost one of its visionaries. The man even survived the Holocaust then went on to help solidify the gaming industry within entertainment. That is quite an amazing life story. I know his death was a few months ago, but when I pulled out my Commodore 64 today it reminded me. The man was truly a genius.
