Nakamura founded Nakamura Manufacturing, which would be renamed Namco in 1977. He became president of the company in 2002, and became senior advisor of Bandai Namco Holdings, holding an honorary position until his death. In 2007, he was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun for his achievements in the industry. Bandai Namco announced that he passed away on January 22, but gave no details, citing his family's wishes. You will be missed.
The industry and the world has lost yet another great man. My thoughts are with his family. Rest in peace Mr. Nakamura and thank you for everything you and Namco have created.
To think he's see the rise and fall, and then a second time for each of video games is something I wish to have seen. A shame he's gone
Namco's Pole Position II was one of my first gaming memories as 4, 5 year old kid. So i have to say Thank you. Rest in peace Mr. Nakamura
Sad news indeed. RIP. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-38799306 There's actually a Video Game Hall of Fame?!
