The actor Michael Massee has died aged 61.

One of Massee's earliest roles, that of Funboy in The Crow, unfortunately left him remembered as the man who accidentally killed Brandon Lee after he fired an improperly prepared prop gun. The incident left him traumatized, unable to work for a year, and he had nightmares about it for the rest of his life. He didn't watch the film. One of his earliest films upon returning was Se7en. He was often seen on television in shows such as The X Files, Alias, CSI, Interventions and 24.

However, he has the unusual pleasure of often being cast as a comic book character, for both Marvel and DC, including Armando in Catwoman, Spellbinder in The Batman, Bruce Banner in Ultimate Avengers and The Gentleman in The Amazing Spider-Man. He also provided several voices for the game Star Wars: The Old Republic.

If you're a celebrity, go into hiding for the rest of the year.
