The actor Patrick Macnee has died aged 93. After a portraying minor roles in productions such as Pygmalion, Hamlet and many television shows for many years, he rose to fame as John Steed in The Avengers. He also had a major part in A View to a Kill as Sir Godfrey Tibbett.
