"In 2009, Activision bombarded retailers with 25 different Guitar Hero SKUs, from the PlayStation 2 edition of Guitar Hero: Van Halen to the Wii version of Guitar Hero: Metallica. For 2010, Activision is planning just two major music games--a Guitar Hero game and DJ Hero 2--with fewer than 10 SKUs." I guess they're no longer needed. Sucks...
Working in a game store I hope the rhythm game industry dies a quick painful death. We get the crap in and it's impossible to sell in these times because of the high prices.
ehhhh their arcade sticks were crap and only good for the case...and even then they were over priced...
It is kinda of sad, but not unexpected. Especially how activision and ea have really over done it on the music games. It was funny that guitar hero was made due to a peripheral being made that was designed for the game it ripped off.
It's hilarious how every store that sells games is flooded with Activision's stupid instrument bundles for games like DJ Hero and Band Hero that nobody buys
I still play Rock Band and actually like it quite (I am still bummed that there is no Genesis, U2, etc material) a bit but yes, the music games craze is seriously overdone. It happens with basically every hit game genre (just look at what happened with Doom and the barrage of knock offs). Those music game ensemble store displays take up a lot of real estate at small places like Gamestop. What's next, Symphony Hero (Cello, stand up bass, trumpet, conductor stick, etc) ?
If they actually did make a game based off of symphony instruments, I seriously doubt that they would look anything like wooden instruments or brass.
I saw in an Office Depot the other day the Guitar Master game for PC that teaches you in a manner similar to Guitar Hero how to play the actual guitar.
