The American actor Robert Vaughn has died aged 83 after losing his battle with leukaemia. Vaughn started his career in bit parts on American television and films of the Fifties, including The Ten Commandments and The Magnificent Seven. His big break came in the Sixties as lead character Napoleon Solo in The Man From U.N.C.L.E. He went on to have parts in several films including Bullitt, The Towering Inferno, Demon Seed and BASEketball. More television appearances ensued, including a few appearances in Murder She Wrote and Columbo. He also starred in British series The Protectors and Hustle. After a career spanning an impressive seven decades, amazingly he was only nominated for one Oscar and one BAFTA, also missing wins at the Golden Globes. https://www.theguardian.com/film/2016/nov/11/robert-vaughn-actor-man-from-uncle-dies RIP Robert. Thanks for some great parts that kept me glued to the TV from an early age.
