Roy Skelton died yesterday. He was best known for voicing Zippy and George on the children's television programme Rainbow, but was also a long-term voice actor on Doctor Who, providing voices for the Daleks and the Cybermen, among other characters, in the original series.

RIP Roy - your voices will be remembered by many for years to come.

I saw this on NTSC-UK. I was brought up on rainbow when I was young. Even now the voice of Zippy makes me smile. For the first time in a while, someone who had an influence on my life has passed away. RIP, Roy.

In fact, this thread needs a link to the classic unaired adult versions from the late 70's. Maybe not safe for work although there is NO foul language used and there's no violence or nudity. Really is funny.

For those who don't know, Roy did the voice for the two puppets. Just listen to how he goes straight from one character to the other, almost doing a double take! You never would have guessed they were both voiced by the same guy doing it live
