The actor Sam Kelly has died aged 70 following a long illness. For those who were brought up on Rik Mayall, no doubt they will remember Kelly from the same era in shows such as Porridge and 'Allo 'Allo - in the former, he played German officer Captain Hans Geering, the one who always heiled a little bit slower than the others - "-tler!" He played other wartime roles - Hitler himself in Stalag Luft and an ARP Warden in the film Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang.
