Two of the WORLD'S FINEST AUTHORS both died at age 66...Michael Crichton in 2008 and Tom Clancy in 2013 Tom Clancy, Best-Selling Master of Military Thrillers, Dies at 66 http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/03/b...st-of-military-thrillers-dies-at-66.html?_r=0 Wrote some great books that turned into some great movies as well (The Hunt For Red October (Alec Baldwin/Sean Connery), Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger (Harrison Ford), all the lead actors are incredible in these films plus the supporting cast is awesome in those movies and are some of my favorites as well (Sam Neil, Sean Bean (Sean always plays a great villain!), Willem Dafoe, James Earl Jones, and many more). Unfortunately, my FAVORITE book of his, The Sum of all Fears, was ruined by Ben Affleck, it makes me cringe writing his name here. Still read the book though, The Sum of all Fears, it is his BEST!!!!! Other notable books of his include: Red Storm Rising, Rainbow Six, and The Cardinal and the Kremlin. And of course, lets not forget the Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell, and Ghost Recon series!!!!!!! Interestingly enough, Red Storm Studios was named after his book "Red Storm Rising" which to be honest is probably tied with The Sum of all Fears as his best book/my favorite book of his!!!!! Michael Crichton, Best-Selling Master of Science Fiction, Dies at 66 http://www.michaelcrichton.net/aboutmichaelcrichton-inmemoriam.html Another notable author who died a few years ago, Michael Crichton, deserves a spot here as well. This man's books also made great movies! From Jurassic Park/The Lost World (Sam Neil again! Plus Jeff Goldblum!) to TimeLine to The Great Train Robbery to The Andromeda Strain to the often overlooked SPHERE with Dustin Hoffman, Samuel L. Jackson, and Sharon Stone, this is a must see! My favorite books of his are The Lost World and The Andromeda Strain!!!!! Plus his books not only turned into great movies they also turned into great games too, I absolutely loved Jurassic Park and The Lost World on the Genesis and SNES!!!! He also created E.R. with Anthony Edwards...GOOSE from TOP GUN!!!! Another favorite movie of mine!!!! Fun fact about Michael Crichton...he was six feet nine inches tall!!!!!! Its too bad there aren't authors around like these anymore, may they rest in peace...
