Author Tom Clancy has died aged 66 from an as yet unknown cause. Clancy was a popular writer, and some of his books went on to become major films, particularly those featuring Jack Ryan. His latest book is due to be published by the end of the year. He also founded Red Storm Entertainment, a video game developer, who made games based on his creations. Several of these games became major series, including Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-24372224 RIP Tom. Thanks for some great stories and games. I am sure your name will live on in the games.
He was a terrible writer and the games had nothing to with him. Well...at least Hunt for Red October was a good movie.
You are very, very wrong. He founded Red Storm Entertainment. Go and look at their website. He came up with the concept for Rainbow Six and wrote the book whilst the game was being developed. The other two films with Harrison Ford were decent, too. It's a bit disrespectful to slag someone off on a thread that's paying respects to the person after they have just died. Perhaps you should just keep your comments to yourself. Of course, it's quite funny that you criticize his writing, when you can't even write properly yourself:
Besides selling his name to crappy ghostwritten books and games that had no input from him, he was a good writer. May he rest in peace.
