Well, I did the Gordian Knot... it worked, except I fooked the resolution, so redoing it now. Thanks for everyone who replied.
I'm going to give it a shot tonight. Thanks id-republix - this looks like it's exactly what I needed (a lazy, easy way to rip DVDs ).
Search google for dvd audio ripper That would come in nice results. I've tried #1 DVD Audio and it was excellent. Just selected some chapters and encodec in 192Kbps and everything was nice.
I almost finished ripping The Bourne Identity (I needed to use the computer, and was satisfied with the program's stability... I didn't really care to have it ripped ). This seems to be the first DVD rip type software that doesn't lock up. I'll be ripping Equilibrium later tonight .
I liked Gattaca (after the second time watching it), but I'm not quite sure I understand how the two movies are in the same category, other than both being science fiction.
Societal control concept, basically. Equilibrium has lot more in common with Gattaca than to the movie it's always compared to, Matrix. And Gattaca comes across a lot better.
Dark City > either of those two films then... and don't forget Brazil Required viewing, both of them. Agreed that Gattaca's a better film than Equilibrium though, that film was fucking cheese.
I don't remember Dark City too well. Equilibrium didn't rip, due to a load of fairly deep scratches on the disc. The Matrix Reloaded ripped great, though. Now I just need to get some good movies .
Which side are the scratches on? If they're on the data side you're screwed, if they're not consider the trick some people here were discussing a few months back - sticking the disc in a pan of hot water for a minute or two, data side facing away from the bottom of the pan. Can't hurt to try...
Nah, there are no topside scratches (the first thing I checked for). There are fairly deep scratches on the bottom. I could probably fix it up, but I don't feel it's really worth the effort right now.
