Is there any hardware out there to do this? Something that will let me rip and restore saves to a VMU? I've been looking but I can't seem to find anything besides software that will do it, and thats not what I'm looking for.

Dot50Cal: When you say "software" are you referring to the software that runs on the DC and transfers saves with the BBA / coder's cable?

As far as hardware goes, you have a lot of options. There is the Nexus transfer card / cable and the Massive Memory Card by Gameshark. The best transfer unit out there is the Double Power unit. It allows you to transfer saves from one memory card to another or connect two memory cards to the PC and transfer saves both to and from it.

Yeah, thats what I meant by software :) Thanks, the Double Power looks like what I need!

Are there any reliable sites that I can order it from though? This place doesn't look modern enough to trust with my credit card info, and I really don't want to send money orders and such.

Edit: Damn, it uses a com port. Are there any with USB? My motherboard doesnt have those :\

You can get it for a good price here. The only problem is that it doesn't come with the cable necessary to link it to the PC (They used to include it.). If you're handy with a soldering iron, I can make a pinout for you from my cable. It uses a parallel interface, so if you don't have a parallel port, you'll need a parallel to USB adapter.

Edit: Here is a link to the manufacturer if you want to order the cable directly from them: link.

It seems like the cable is a bulk order only item. You wouldn't happen to know the name of it so I can look around for one?

I've seen it go by a lot of different names (link cable, com interface, pc interface cable, pc link cable, etc), but other than HKEMS, haven't really seen it sold separately. It's probably better if you make your own cable and solder directly to the board. The connector on the Double Power unit isn't that great and the cable can come loose.

    Here is the pinout:

    (PARALLEL PORT END)

    01 - yellow
    02 - orange
    03 - white
    04 - red
    10 - green
    18 - black

    (DOUBLE POWER END)

    06 - black
    05 - red
    04 - white
    03 - orange
    02 - yellow
    01 - green

I'll open up the Double Power unit and take a picture to show exactly where the wires need to be soldered to.

You can also transfer savegames with the DC coders cable. However you need a com port for it.

You can still buy the cable:
    http://www.wolfsoft.de/shop/product...kabel-fuer-2mb,-4mb,-16mb-pc-link-faehig.html
I'm sure there are more online-shops

However it's probably cheaper to buy a NEXUS memory card which has the cable included.
