I've been longing for this day since I first played Road Avenger on Sega Mega CD as a little kid at Toys R Us: After 26 years, Road Blaster/Road Avenger has finally arrived on the Super Nintendo. Still needs lots of work and fine-tuning, so please understand this as a proof-of-concept rather than a full-fledged final release. This game makes use of the MSU-1 hardware extension, which originated with Byuu and his emulator Bsnes. The only hardware implementation of the MSU-1 available so far is Ikari_01s sd2snes flashcart. And as you can see in the (badly shot) youtube-video: Yes, it runs fine on a stock SNES and yes, this is what games may have looked like if the SNES CD would have been released. Youtube-video
Awesome achievement. I'd love to play this on a real SNES. Wonder when the sd2snes carts will be finalized and available for sale. It looks as if it wouldn't be much longer.
Awesome work! I wonder how you manage to do a port from Sega CD to SNES. I´m really curious about the final release. @cez: The sd2snes has already been released. Unfortunately it ran out of stock the day it was announced...
I don't think it has been released yet I looked on Ikari's website and he hasn't made a post on it in a month or so.
I'm finally done with this game and released it earlier this week. Get it at http://www.dforce3000.de/?uid=44.
