Yup, I borrowed 2 from a friend and it was fine. 3 is just retarded and pisses me off. In game ads everywhere FTL also.
agreed...yet I'm still getting GH II and III for 360 I need the guitars. as for the Learn Real Guitar argument. Somebody on another forum said it best Video games allow you to be something you aren't in real life. in this case a rock star.
exactally.. Why play a space shoot'em up? Go be an astronaut. Why play Fifa? Go play real soccer. Why play Halo? Go join the marines. Why play Grand Tourismo? Go drive a real car. Why play Street Fighter? Go learn martial arts. Why play Katamari? Go roll shit up in a ball. I can go on.
Well let's see.. what are the chances of becomming an astronaut? Yet, soccer-sims? fuck'em, go get a ball, it's cheaper. Guitar? more fun to play the real thing and u can bang more women with it too Gran Tourismo? retarded, I d rather drive a real car or some arcade racer. Street Fighter? Well I ve been doing Tae-Kwon Do for more than 12 years and I prefer kicking ass that way, but the Law and fatigue get in the way, so video-games it is. See, the things we want to play , in my view, are the things that are hard or near-impossible to do in real life. I accept the fact that opinions don't always match, but I just thought I d post my view on the subject =)
It's one thing to play guitar, it's another to be a rock STAR. And it uses a completly different part of your brain, I play guitar and I play RB/GH and I enjoy both for different reasons.
well, correct me if m wrong, but being a rock star is about: a) pussy b) drugs c) money all of which you can access anyway, and GHIII does not assist in any way. So what exactly is the rock-star argument about , since its devoid of essence?
To me, being a rockstar is about fame, fortune, and fans. And guitar hero lets you pretend, with the giant venues you play in. I take it you've never played alot of it.
I tried it, but it didn't click for me. I m not a big fan of sync-games, although I found DK:Jungle Beat (the platforming game where u control DK with bongos) to be one of my favourite GC games. Fame, Fortune (money) and Fans are just as rewarding as being succesful in any other game (with a cheerful ending), so I can't say it's a unique experience.
The point of gh is the pretending to be a rockstar, without the time investment (or loss of brain cells) The controller engages you, it's gameplay is similar to any rhythm game but the controller engages you. the drum kit on rb on the other hand, actually is barley different from playing real drums (you hit shit with the drum stick to make a beat) the instrument with the biggest stretch? Probably beatmania.
the sales and you say the game is good in its own right, so I won't argue against such strong facts, and I respect your view of course - but the arguments are weak if you'd ever want to "drag" someone to be a follower of the game
my main issue was that the music didnt match what I was pressing - it felt unconnected , even in GHII - then again, I used to play the violin and now I play the bass-guitar, which could explain my confusion. It felt like i was "following" a song, not leading/playing it.
on expert, every note has a note/chord. It feels unnatural on easy, and a little on medium because you hear music but you're not doing anything.
GH1,2, 80's edition all did. That's all harmonix's work, so I'm assumming - Yes. because they made rockband. I love the strat on rockband more than the SG on Gh. The frets don't have that gap between them, so hammer ons let you just slide your fingers around more.
Yup, I do miss the clicking of the Xplorers sturm bar but I have gotten used to the strat. The fret buttons are defininitly better. I just want a damn V. I'm just trying to master the drums, working my way to the bottom.
I think bass players are meant to follow along except the rare few anyways. Henner is right about playing it with multiple people though. If you haven't played it with a bunch of tone def bastards, you are missing out. First day I got it, I played with 3 other pretty untalented friends and everyone immediately picked it up and knew what to do. We all had a shit load of fun too. Honestly though, I think it would be awesome if they made a game like GH/RB that was a training program for real instruments. They could hook up a midi guitar, drums, keyboard and have basic music lessons.
