So i just stumbled across this, and downloaded the demo. WOW. It feels so much like an oldschool platformer (i played the previous sparkster games) that i could rant and rave about it like they payed me to. Other than that, short demo, real pretty, controls are pretty nice, and you can knock some enemies projectiles back at them and kill them or any other enemy it hits. I'd have to buy the full game to give a better review (which i plan on doing shortly) but must say that i am quite impressed so far. Anyone else messed with it at all or have the full version and have a different opinion? (also, this makes me glad i bought a 360 pad to use with my PC, as it SUCKS with SF4)
I played the demo on PSN and I loved it, however it seemed too easy but I don't remember if the originals were that easy because it's been nearly 13-14 years since i've played them
I've got the 360 version and absolutely loved it. It's so-so-ish on Normal, but quickly gets harder when played on Hard (to keep going on hard, you need to find the weak spots of the various bosses, or else it'll reset to Normal on the next level. It's like this by design. You also get this properly communicated to you.) In general I'd say it's pretty much the same difficulty as the older games. Maybe it's a bit generous with the extra lives and check points... that's about it. There's also an extra difficulty that can be unlocked (along with some other random stuff) And, oh, I hear the PC version is supposedly locked at 1280x720 or something. Yet to hear anyone confirm that, but I guess there's some sort of mysterious truth behind it since so many have felt the need to tell me this.
Mines running @ 1280x1024 no problem. On stage 3 now on normal. Its a good time, not too easy, really enjoying it so far. Down with the Pigs!
I bought the 360 version a few weeks back and while it's nice it is missing that little something to make it a pure Rocket Knight game.
Saw this the other day, and got scared so I turned away. If you guys say it's respectable, I'll give it a go.
It plays like the original Mega Drive game but I find it lacks the character charm of the original. Saying that, they have used a remake of the original Rocket Knight 1st level theme which was a pleasent surprise and a m,ost welcome on at that. I just wish they remade all the original tunes since the new tunes are pretty plain. Yakumo
slight necromancy here. Picked up a Hori Real Arcade Pro EX-SE over the weekend. This game is LOVE with an arcade stick, i wanna play that upcoming Hard Corps. or whatever its called with this thing.
