Anyone booted beta 2 on hardware? My matrix infinity on my ps2 is reporting the disc as a ps2 game for some reason, and my ps1 stops at the Sony Playstation logo edit: beta 1 boots, not sure why beta 2 won't for me
I wish I had some cd-rs laying around to test this out but I ran out weeks ago. I ran each beta with ePSXe since PSXfin doesn't seem to work with it. I found a pretty good guide on how to rip your own BIOS for emu use If there is any interest for this I can dig it up and post it.
Just tested beta 2 and it boots fine on my PAL Fat with Matrix Infinity. The only noticeable thing for me was the lack of music? This PS2 has had that problem before with proper games though (Cleopatra Fortune won't play any music and it's a legit disc).
It was suggested to me that a ps2 might not properly detect psx if they use PSX.EXE instead of a system.cnf file, but if it works on yours maybe my burn just turned out bad, hm.
Wasn't there a thread about this a year or so ago? I'm sure there was because I was hoping it was a Saturn beta. Yakumo
If true I hope someone can dig it up (game or thread). Also could an admin change the title so that is says that this is the Playstation version? Something like "Rockman 8 PS beta v1 + v2 released" will do or just add the PSone icon next to the thread. I'd like to avoid the confusion and not get anyones hopes up if there is indeed a Rockman 8 beta out there for the Saturn. Sorry to anyone that was hoping this was a Sega Saturn release.
