One of my friends is a huge Megaman fan, and has been asking me if I could look into this game for him called Rockman Strategy. It's a Taiwan only Rockman game that was officialy endorsed by Capcom, but which only 5 known copies exist of to this day by the Megaman/Rockman community. Here's a link with some more info: http://www.themechanicalmaniacs.com/articles/RMSLG.php What id like to know is are their any more known copies of it in existance and/or places to get a copy? Also, does anyone know any of the backstory to this game development wise, and why it got such a 'limited release' as it were? Also, if anyone has a copy they'd be willing to part with, drop me a pm.
I really doubt that only 5 copies were ever released. Even Yesasia lists it. It was a Taiwan (not Korea) only release and it's out of print. That obviously makes it hard to track down.
Hence them being the only known copies, not only copies, as I and no one else seems to be able to confirm that number beyond 5. Hence why I changed my post about 10 minutes before you made yours. Yea, that would be the point of the thread in the first place.
Being a BIG MegaMan fan myself I have read up on all info I could find about that game long ago. (little as it may be) I really couldnt find out anything about it other then what is posted on the site you listed. I think there were some topics about it on their forums some time ago but I dont know if you will be able to dig them up. I had wanted to at least get a ISO of the game or something to try it out, but after much hunting to no avail and the fact that I wouldnt be able to understand the text I gave up on it. I ruthlessly hunted through torrent sites and the like to try and find it but it didnt get me anywhere. I would say that unless you find someone who has a copy themselves and will sell or make a image of it then you are out of luck. If you do happen to stumble across any more relavant info please let me know and good luck.
I wouldn’t get myself worked up about it. For one, the game wouldn’t be rare since that stuff really common in Asia. Convenience stores like Seven 11 in China/Taiwan sell PC games all the time, including that exact title. As for game play, unless you know Chinese you might as well forget about it unless you just want a collectors piece. The game requires too much Chinese to play, such as weapon types, part types, attacks, not to mention story as well. You could probably wing it, but you’d defiantly have more fun playing a game you understand.
