I'm curious if anyone knows a little more about this:

Rockman X4 trial disc, released sometime in early 1997. Comes with a very early demo build of X4 and some other additional features.

Interestingly, the SLPM code, "80121" isn't listed on any PSX product code databases.

Anyone have more info on this? Where did it come from? How limited is it?

First thought it might've been a demo from some PlayStation the Best re-release of a Capcom game (Like how Rockman Dash has a demo for Rockman Dash 2, Rockman X4 has a demo for Rockman Dash, etc...), but all of those have Disc 2 written on their accompanying demo discs, I think.

Seeing the 10th Anniversary Logo makes me think of those releases mentioned on the disc there and the fact that Rockman Dash (Megaman Legends, another "10th anniversary" release not on that disc) had a demo sent out via Club Capcom/CapcomFriendlyClub (or whatever it's called). There was also a preview of sorts for Dash (under the NEO name) on... the PS1 port of Street Fighter Zero (Street Fighter Alpha), if memory serves me right (or maybe it was just Biohazard 1...), but no 8/X4/B&C disc (too early for that)

Maybe this was a similar mail out (which means it either came in a paper sleeve or, more likely, some sort of foldable paper cover thingy, like the Star Gladiator and Rockman Dash discs that Capcom sent out)

I'm not completely unfamiliar with the disc, as I've seen a few on Yahoo Japan at some point in the past, probably as part of some group auctions or packed in with something else, but I don't have any in my own shelf of PlayStation 1 demo/promo discs :crying:

It was sealed in clear jewel case with pull away strip. I think it was only for store play.
