Apparently there was a rumor around E3 1998 that work had started on a Sequel to the car combat game "Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012". Does anyone have info on this?
"How successful was Critical Depth and Rogue Trip for SingleTrac at the time? Rogue Trip in particular had a large marketing push and did well critically, but were there ever plans for a sequel? I thought Rogue Trip was fantastic and superior to Sony's internally-produced Twisted Metal 3, but I suspect it did not achieve anything close to Twisted Metal 2's numbers. And again with Critical Depth, I don't know how well it sold. I was always worried about that one, though, as high-speed submarine chases and combat just isn't something that registered in my mind as a compelling fantasy. Maybe they both sold very well and they never told us, but it sure seemed like management wasn't enthusiastic about sales. I don't know if there were plans for sequels or not. I was a fan of rogue trip, it would have been great to see a sequel, or even see it get tied back into Twisted Metal now that the original team is back to working on it.

Had some cool tracks on that one" So between those two, it's pretty much confirmed the game was worked on, at least briefly. IGN also reported on it back then: "Rogue Trip 2 The original masters of car combat are on another summer road trip with the tourists in Rogue Trip 2, we learned the other day. Few details are known on this one other than it's in development with Singletrak and will be published by GT Interactive this year."
